Carpet is a dirty word.

Carpet is a dirty word in my house. I spent last weekend with my hubby & kids cutting, tearing & removing the remaining carpet in my house. It is only left under the big screen tv and the stairs. Can you say Disgusting?! 30 year old carpet - 2 doggies (3 yrs old) that have peed & defecated whenever we weren't around (to show their displeasure of being left alone).
30 year old carpet and living near the ocean in foggy climate is bad enough - my house was so bad (stinky), I couldn't stand it another moment. yucka. I feel such relief to see the bare concrete floor. It means no more carpet - no more mold - no more stinky paddding - easy care & maintenance. I can live with a messy house until all is done & cleaned. I can live in a disaster zone knowing that the carpet is gone. It is a mess, but I am happy as can be. We did it. We finally did it. I figure that after cleaning and scrubbing, we'll get it sealed & then maybe painted or even glazed, make it look marbled. hmmmm sounds nice & pretty. Fix it yourself & have fun while working. Hmmm. Maybe dad will help. That would be nice.
I am just so happy that it's gone - kinda like the song the munchkins sing... Ding Dong ... The witch is dead.

Ding Dong...The carpets are gone.
Which carpet?
The Dirty Carpet.
Ding Dong...The dirty carpets' are gone.

hehehe

At this rate, I'll have my house completely finished by the time my kids are ready to move me into a retirement home. Oh, well. It is the journey that I am enjoying.

Ding Dong...The carpets are gone.

Comments:
